Not sure if I like or hate this! Morrissey is awesome but I don’t wish him harm.

I went to see Cabin in the Woods tonight. The previews were cryptic at best but really had me amped for a new horror movie. I settled in to watch the movie with my hi-c fruit punch and raisinettes and first thing right off the bat is some terrible graphic design for the movie start/title sequence. It was hard not to expect things to go hell from there but Joss Whedon (BTVS, Angel, and Avengers director) turned out to be the writer so i knew things were gonna get much better.
 Things got great.
Spoiler Alert: the basic premiss, debaucherous college students are lured out to a cabin in the woods where they unwittingly choose the horrific way they are going to die. Their deaths are a sacrifice to keep terrible and chaotic gods asleep.
Chaos and blood ensues. The movie was good horror movie fun mixing from all the great genres zombies, monsters, demons, ghosts, and government plots.
The movie also snagged some big stars such as Ellen Ripley herself, Sigourney Weaver, Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Richard Jenkins (Step Brothers) and Amy Acker (Angel and Dollhouse). The movie was completely unpredictable and somewhat original in the world of the sometimes stale horror genre.
While obviously not life changing, still a good scary ride to get the adrenalin pumping, horror movie fans should still see Cabin in the woods for sure. Nothing but approval for Cabin in the Woods from up here in the balcony.
